Moana Lodge

Only got 20 mins before my money runs out so I'll be brief.
Staying in a place called Moana Lodge in Pilmerton or somewhere its right near Wellington.
Really nice place, quite how it calls itself a backpackers I'm not sure, it's REALLY nice.

Anyway the last few days have been spent travelling down from Auckland stopping all along the way. Rotorua and Napier being the main stops. Seen and done some awesome things of which I'll get some photos up if I manage to get to a place with free internet. I'll try to put up one or two now but if time runs out then you're going to have to wait because I'm not putting another two bucks in, rather take a walk on the beach and look at all the stars.

Tomorrow we're going to explore Wellington a bit then spend another night here then we'll get across to the South Island and see what is to be seen there.

Oooh it put up a picture, this is a Variable oyster catcher in some bird park we went to. The lines around the edge is the wires of the cage and litterally moments after taking this shot it whacked my camera with its big long beak, surprising amount of force it had too, although not enough to break the camera luckily. that'll teach me to take pictures so close to birds with long beaks.

Times up now so byes, feel free to comment or send me email, noone seems to be doing much of that :(

update time!

Been a while since I've posted. Haven't done since I was in the UK in fact, whoops!

So I thought I'd try and get a fairly big post up now with lots of photos and a quick run through what we've been up to, although I'm not one for storytelling so may be best to look to Fionas for a riveting read.

First up, Singapore. Singapore was lovely disturbingly clean, terrible food, awesomely hot but really nice. Best thing to do is right click on the pictures and open in new window, I thought most people would be able to manage on there own but Fiona insisted I need to guide you all through.
Once we finally got to New Zealand the first few days were spent at Sally's house recovering from jetlag and generally relaxing.

After a few days at Sally's we took a trip to Great Barrier Island, which is a half hour journey on a tiny little plane. It was a beautiful little Island very, very remote - no electricity etc. Really quiet and the few people you do see are absolutely insane. It was a really nice though as you can see it's a beutiful island.

Few more days round Auckland so we've been looking for cars and took a trip to the sky tower.

Finally bought a car managed to get this lovely Subaru including insurance for $1550 thats about 550 pounds. Notice the damage to the front right hand indicator that Fiona managed to do as we left straight after buying it. The albums just one photo atm but we're going to go clean it tomorrow so then I'll put some more in - it's currently filthy.
